Premium quality, fast curing paint designed for interior surfaces where a flat finish and superior film formation properties are needed.
Paul…working with (not for) the EPA I can say that no products that are 0 voc have making agents…If you get colorants put in the paint, you will get VOC’s….simple as that. So does PPG have zero VOC’s…yes. Does Sherwin with Harmony?...yes…after all the products I have used, Id rather use the pure performance cause harmony isnt that durable of a product….low hiding and too runny to meet the ideal wet mils….hope i could help
I have severe asthma, an abundance of allergies to various chemicals and foods (I should be living in a bubble (lol).
20 years ago I discovered AFM paint! I was in heaven! I could again paint (without passing out or fear of dying). I immediately contacted AFM in California (no dealers at that time) and ordered a 5 gallon bucket. I lasted painted in 2001 and there is no cracking, chipping or peeling. When it gets dirty I wipe it with a damp cloth (or clean it with AFM Safety clean product). I’m getting ready to paint in Spring ( and will use AFM Safecoat zeo voc flat ( I do my own tinting and get the exact color I want :-) As mentioned before the smell isn’t great but it disipates quickly. My only complaint is the price :-) However better to spend $$ on this paint than at the hospital.I have been using AFM products for over 20 years and am quite happy with them. In fact I had my floors a few years ago by a contractor using AFM products and was able to move back into our bedroom within 48 hours (no smell :-)
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PAINT AND ANY OF AFM’S PRODUCTS.
I have NO affilations with the company.. I JUST LOVE THEIR PRODUCTS :-)
In regards to the comment left about the Boulder purchase- just want to point out that Benjamin Moore and Pittsburgh Paints use chemical maskers in their products to hide the scents- that is my understanding of them- perhaps someone else can shed more light into it…seems like your problem with the product is more with the store that isn’t providing the service.
We bought this product at Planetary Solutions in Boulder, CO and were not impressed by the scent it put out—much stronger than we expected. After trying Kelly-Moore’s Low-VOC paint last night for less per gallon, I don’t expect to go back to Safecoat anytime soon.
I’ve said this before about Planetary Solutions, but it bears repeating—they are friendly, but slow and may not get things right the first time. Whereas Kelly-Moore (30th & Valmont) matched my paint swatch in literally 5 minutes, Planetary Solutions took several tries and spent well over 30 minutes attempting to match our color. Set aside enough time before going in.
