The Sun Frost RF16 is an extremely efficient full-size refrigerator. It has two independent cooling systems and temperature controls. In fact, one compartment may be left running while the other is shut off. The uniquely designed cooling coils on the outside of the Sun Frost do not require fans. The Sun Frost RF16 may be mounted on a 13 inch high cabinet for maximum convenience.

My Sun Frost also has lost the refriderator side. Because it is at a remote sit out of the country, service has been difilcult. The manufacturer has suggested drilling two two inch holes in the common partion and with the help of a waterproof cpu type fan push cool air down into the refridgerator section ,they maintain it will still make ice and keep things cool. I’m trying to figure out how to control fan speed, or a thermostat. They were helpfull but would not sell me the parts to re-new the fridg.

Our Sun Frost RF16 worked well for 12 years, then the refrigerator section lost coolant and slowly (over several weeks) was unable to keep the unit cool. It is very difficult to get someone to repair the unit. After much searching we finally found a repairman brave enough to look at the equipment. The company was fairly good about sending information to him. Three weeks after the repair the unit has stopped cooling again. We are beginning to suspect that we need a new refrigerator and feel that this unit should have lasted longer than it did given the price. It is good that since the freezer half is a separate compressor and coolant, we did not loose frozen food.
